ABOUT US

Each of the two Universities on top of "University Hill" in Syracuse has impressive resources in environmental research and teaching. Together, we offer one of the strongest concentrations of environmental scholarship in the United States, if not the world.

The renowned programs of the Maxwell School, the College of Arts and Sciences, the L. C. Smith College of Engineering, the Whitman School of Management, and the College of Law at Syracuse University, and the departments of Forest and Natural Resources Management , Environmental and Forest Biology, Environmental Studies, Environmental Resources and Forest Engineering, and Landscape Architecture at SUNY-ESF are all located within a stone's throw of each other (and very close to SUNY Upstate Medical University). The proximity and historical connection between the two campuses and a flexible arrangement of cross-registration, dual-degree programs, and collaboration allows faculty and students to forge productive and exciting connections between these schools and departments, as well as with the many research centers on the two campuses, such as the Syracuse Center of Excellence in Environmental and Energy Systems, and the Great Lakes Research Consortium.
