| Ecotourism entrepreneur Oleg Boltokov has a tourist hostel ("The Green House") in the village of Kurai that offers very comfortable lodging for anyone planning to head up into the glacial passes of Ak-Tru and other nearby mountains. Oleg is also starting to build a base camp farther up on Ak-Tru. After a spectacular sunrise over the mountains and the valley, we drove up to the Ak-Tru site and hiked a bit along a mountain road.
